Welcome to the BIG DRAW-Ruskin Schedule

The BIG DRAW-Ruskin is a season of sponsored drawing and arts events in Ruskin, Florida and around the Southshore and Tampa Bay Area. The BD-R is linked to the International Campaign for Drawing and invites & supports BIGDRAW events, workshops, classes (and a major community public art project) during the month of October; all open to the public and free (a few events require a nominal materials fee — which is noted in the description).

This blog is your source for the latest information on BIG DRAW-Ruskin and area BIGDRAW events. You can use the Labels list to the right to find an event by date, host, age (we feature events for adults, teens, kids, and all-ages), location, etc.

New events are posted regularly. New listings invited!

NOW HERE'S THE TRICK: Postings are not in chronological order. To view events during a seven day period in October, select the week from the Labels column on the right.

Calendar is here. Downloadable schedule here.

Reservations for BIGDRAW STUDIO workshops or mini-classes are made in person or by phone at Ruskin Branch Library during library hours. 813.273.3652; T, W, TH, 10-7; F, S, 10-6; Closed Sunday & Monday

Commit yourself to a 2 day drawing marathon extravaganza. This intense all day activity is open to all students interested in increasing their understanding and perception of the visual world. Participants will work in a large studio with a massive set-up and live clothed models. Projects will be executed in charcoal on large 4'x5' paper. This 2day immersion in drawing will culminate in an informal critique and exhibit. What to bring, directions, & additional info will be provided upon registration.
